intent

After attending Osheaga in 2015, I wanted to learn more about the brand and organization. While I don't dislike the branding used for the 2015 event, I still think it could have beeen stronger.

I set out to create a mock promotional poster, as well as a brochure that outlined the headlining acts from the music festival.

Osheaga creates posters that share their lineup, but they don't really make an effort to just advertise the event itself. This mock poster would be useful at the event, or for quick advertisement in public settings, which would then redirect them to get more information elsewhere.


how i did it

To create this rippled texture, I photographed a bath bomb in water, and then in Illustrator, I vectored the segments of colour to simplify the image. Finally, to give it a more complex composition, I rippled it in Photoshop. The text was done in a combination of Photoshop and InDesign.

promotional brochure

Creating a brochure challenged my typographic, curating, and compositional skills. I knew I had to incorporate room for bilingual design in the brochure, as the festival was taking place in Montreal, QB, and would need to include French. The process book below demonstrates the changes that were made to the design of the poster and brochure.
